Past End-of-Order 2026-05-17 · Channel inventory only · Successor: FortiGate 90G

FortiGate 80F India

The FortiGate 80F (FG-80F) is the step-up from the 60F — nearly double the IPS throughput (2.6 Gbps) and SSL inspection (1.8 Gbps), with 12 GE ports, 2 SFP uplinks, and 1.5M concurrent sessions. Sized for medium branches with 50–100 users or busy internet links where the 60F's throughput is a constraint.

Lifecycle status: Fortinet announced End-of-Order for the FortiGate 80F on 2026-05-17. New units can still be supplied from remaining channel inventory, but the active replacement at this tier is the FortiGate 90G — same branch use case, NP7 ASIC, 23 Gbps firewall / 5.5 Gbps IPS throughput. End-of-Support extends to 2031-05-17, so existing 80F deployments continue to receive FortiGuard signature updates and FortiCare support until then. For new procurement, Ogma will quote both the 80F (subject to stock) and the 90G alongside so you can make an informed call.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about buying FortiGate 80F in India.

FortiGate 80F is the right step up from the 60F when you need 50–100 users or full SSL inspection on a 100 Mbps+ link. Production deployments require a FortiGuard subscription — the 3-year ATP bundle is the most-quoted configuration; the Enterprise bundle adds FortiSandbox Cloud, Industrial Security, and Security Rating. Share your bundle and term and Ogma will return a partner quote within 2 hours, including deployment services.

The 80F's key advantage over the 60F is nearly double the IPS throughput (2.6 Gbps vs 1.4 Gbps) and double the SSL inspection throughput (1.8 Gbps vs 900 Mbps). For branches with busy 200–500 Mbps internet links, or environments requiring full SSL deep inspection of all outbound traffic, the 60F can become a bottleneck. The 80F also handles twice as many concurrent sessions (1.5M vs 700K) — relevant for environments with many parallel connections.

Yes. The FortiGate 80F supports active-passive and active-active HA modes. For HA deployment, two identical 80F units are required. The secondary unit uses a Fortinet HA license bundle at a reduced price. Ogma designs and deploys HA FortiGate pairs for critical environments — the failover is stateful (session-preserving) and typically completes in under 1 second.

Ogma runs Fortinet's trade-in upgrade program — your existing 60F earns a credit toward the 80F purchase price. The credit value depends on the 60F's remaining FortiCare support term and age. If the 60F is within the first 2 years of a 3-year contract, the trade-in credit can be significant. Ogma handles the trade-in paperwork, credit application, and new 80F procurement in a single transaction.

Yes. FortiGate 80F is fully supported by FortiManager for centralized management — policy management, device monitoring, SD-WAN template push, and workflow-based change management. If you have multiple 80F sites, FortiManager pays for itself in operational efficiency within the first year. Ogma can size the right FortiManager model for your device count and manage FortiManager as a service if needed.
